<p>Recently I saw some people on X trash talk OV and EV certificates, saying things along the lines &quot;who pays for SSL certificates in 2026&quot;</p>
<p>Well, yes people do, and there&#39;s atleast one good reason for it: DV certificates are technically prone to BGP Hijacking, meaning, your DV secured site could be MiTMed by a state level actor or less.</p>
